In full style... because Sanremo is not just about music

Lots of black, skin present, some really apt looks. As always, Sanremo is not only music (and controversy): it is a real red carpet. Also for the 74th edition of the Festival, eyes on the outfits of artists, guests and presenters. Eccentric and very monochromatic choices, but here one suspects that there was the hand of Fantasanremo (which awarded 10 points to singers dressed in only one color).

Whatever the reason, the first night saw many "all's": from the total black of Annalisa (Dolce&Gabbana), Emma (Marc Jacobs) and Negramaro (Paul & Shark), to the total white of Diodato in Zegna and Fiorella Mannoia, ultra-feminine in the white lace dress by Luisa Spagnoli that accompanied her throughout the festival, to the final with a velvet dress (black). Ghali voice out of the chorus with his all-blue and crystal outfit by Loewe.

Leather has carved out its own space: from the burgundy Versace suit of Marco Mengoni, co-host of the first evening, to Mahmood's outfits, Tuesday's Prada utility wear outfit and Loewe's bare-shouldered jumpsuit of the third evening. And again Mr.Rain who duetted with Gemelli DiVersi in a moss-colored Fendi leather total look, to the Ferrari jumpsuit worn by Emma for the final performance.

Lively choices for Dargen D'Amico, in Moschino from the Green Carpet walk to the closing night. On Saturday evening, the artist walked the Ariston stage in a woolen, two-tone red and black suit decorated with more than 2,000 small contrasting sequin hearts (from the A/W 2000 collection). On her feet a pair of leather lace-ups, one red and the other black. Soft, draped fabrics for Maninni, also in Antonio Riva Milano.

The final evening saw Il Volo, Negramaro, The Kolors and Fiorello in Giorgio Armani; total white for Santi Francesi in Dolce&Gabbana. More Fendi for Mr.Rain, Cycle for La Sad and Paco Rabanne for Clara. Alessandra Amoroso showed up in a black dress with rhinestones and sequins by Roberto Cavalli, who also dressed Teresa Mannino, co-host of the third night. For her, three outfits with shirts with fluttering sleeves and feather application and a black dress with emerald green embroidery.

We come to the podium. Angelina Mango chose Etro during the five evenings on the Ariston stage. For the grand finale, bodysuit with black and green floral pattern and black train. Second, amid controversy, Geolier, who started on the Green Carpet in a Napoli tracksuit and closed in a suit with jacket/shirt covered in crystals. Supersexy Annalisa, who walked down the steps on Saturday in Dolce&Gabbana, amid transparencies, plunging neckline and the ever-present garter belt.

Style also takes center stage offstage. Paola&Chiara led the PrimaFestival in Marella: for Paola sartorial androgynous suits, for Chiara hyper feminine choices. Alongside Fiorello in "Viva Rai 2!... Viva Sanremo!", Alessia Marcuzzi wore five vintage creations by Francesco Scognamiglio: for the covers episode - here Rose Villain sported a Sportmax couture minidress covered in 17 thousand crystals - a pink tulle dress with a crystal bow (F/W 2019).
