Antares: the new splitting machine with automatic feeding system
The new Antares automatic splitting machine for tripe hides designed by the Mosconi company is completely new compared to traditional machinery: this machine can in fact be fed directly from a conveyor belt that brings the hides to the patented introduction system where the hide is placed; it will then be the system that automatically introduces and enlarges the hide presenting it to the sizing cylinder and the blade.
In fact, if the hides are conveyed to the machine by a conveyor belt, the operator only has to check that they are stretched out (without folds): for the rest, with its introduction system, Antares does everything by itself. An interesting solution is to position the Antares splitter in line with the fleshing machine by placing a conveyor belt between the two machines: this way you will have a constant production flow avoiding downtime.
The bench has a patented system with elimination of the backrest, rollers, and rubber cylinder. The new patent provides an inflatable sleeve with a special design that avoids the accumulation of dirt and any pieces of leather or splits between the backrest and rollers (typical in traditional splitting machines), thus always leaving the exit of the split free. Antares can therefore be compared to a numerical control centre: a customised program for each type of leather can be memorised and once recalled, automatically reports all settings without possibility of error.
