Smerigliatura Pelli Diletta, a Tuscan company that is a typical expression of Made in Italy know-how, was founded in the early 1990s by the artisan and entrepreneur Massimo Zirpoli. However, many years earlier, the company had its roots in another important tanning centre, that of Solofra (AV).
Leather processing has been in the Zirpoli family for three generations.
Smerigliatura Pelli Diletta works on behalf of third parties for all the major brands in the Luxury market and specialises in processing all types of reptile skins and suede split leathers. Leather goods and footwear are the reference sectors, and thanks to about twenty-five specialised employees, the company can carry out the entire production process in-house, guaranteeing the best possible quality. Furthermore, in July 2022, the company obtained the LWG sustainability certification with a score of 96/100.
«As far as exotic leathers are concerned - explains the company’s owner - the company can carry out processes such as sanding, wet stretching, and drying in ovens and on plates. The suede split department, on the other hand, is characterised by both 800 mm manual machine sanding and 1900 mm fulminosa sanding machine».
