When it comes to fashion and innovation, Polimoda is always at the heart of the action. The year 2022 started off under the banner of very significant partnerships and collaborations aimed at the future of fashion. In February 2022, Polimoda presented its co-lab with the world-renowned trend forecaster Lidewij Edelkoort: a training project starting in autumn 2022 with the Master in Textiles from Farm to Fabrics to Fashion. Polimoda's new two-year course will take students on an experimental and conscious understanding of the entire process of making a garment, from the origin of the fibres, through industrial and artisan textile production, to design and fashion creation.

In March 2022, it was the turn of the synergy between Polimoda and the United Nations Office for Partnerships to help design a future for the fashion industry that focuses on sustainability, inclusiveness, and climate action. Thematic events and masterclasses dedicated to students and the fashion community will be organised and educational programs will include training modules focusing on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). 

In April, immediately after the announcement of the educational partnership with Microsoft Garage in New York, Polimoda launched the “Fashion for the Metaverse” short course in collaboration with the renowned digital creative agency MONOGRID. The 4-week course, to be launched in June 2022, is aimed at advanced students and professionals with a fashion design background and will focus on training experts specialised in the design and development of digital fashion creations for the metaverse and NFT.
