The market is increasingly demanding automation that is simple, streamlined, flexible, and easy to reconfigure quickly. The solution proposed by the Autec company is a machine for carding and/or primer application on standard plastic shoe uppers, normally used in the production of casual or safety shoes. The machine has already been used in production for three years with excellent results in terms of quality and reliability; it is now being released in a more compact version. The Autec company’s years of experience in automatic carding have enabled it to develop the use of a versatile tool that adapts to different types of upper shapes and thicknesses. Both solvent- and water-based primers can be applied subsequently. The machine is programmed via a probing tool, on an external station, without the need to stop machine production. Profile acquisition is optimised via a software calculation that determines the optimum profile.
