FOCUS

Canapimp is a metal-free tanning that uses substances derived from hemp oils, developed by the Conceria Nuova Impala company. This technology recovers waste from agricultural processing and transforms and renders products from polluted land reclamation inert. Canapimp offers a leather product without metal content (chrome, aluminium, iron, titanium, zinc), biodegradable and compostable, but with the same performance as chrome tanning. Canapimp allows a reduction of up to 70% of water in the Pikel phase and the total elimination of sulphuric acid; moreover, for every square metre of leather produced, 350 to 450 g of chromium are eliminated from the tanning industry.
