That sustainability is a value that is becoming increasingly central to companies is certainly good news, and while everyone or almost everyone is committed to optimizing their processes and products to make them increasingly green, there are some brands that are pushing the innovation accelerator by developing innovative lines and products. Here are 3 that particularly struck us, discovered at the latest edition of Première Vision.
YARN THAT COMES FROM OYSTERS
How to transform waste into an opportunity? Creative Tech Textile and Hans Global thought about it by creating Seawool®, a yarn made of recycled polyester from plastic bottles collected on the beaches and then enriched with fragments of oyster shells, which gives the yarn properties of thermoregulation, odor control and softness.
SYNTHETIC FIBER THAT COMES FROM SUGAR CANE
When you think of synthetic fibers, plastics, such as polyester, polyamide and elastane, immediately come to mind. The alternative is offered by bio-polymers such as PlaX, produced by the company Bioworks, obtained by processing cane sugar, which has the characteristic of being more reactive towards bright colors and more resistant than traditional bioplastics.
PINEAPPLE AND BANANA FABRIC
Pineapple fiber is three times more resistant than cotton, banana fiber has an exceptional capacity for regulating humidity. Combining them together creates an exceptional and sustainable fabric, designed by Familitex, one of the most important Portuguese textile companies whose vocation is to create innovative and sustainable materials.
