Made in Italy began to take shape between the 1950s and 1960s, establishing itself as an internationally recognized brand of quality and style. It was during this period that Italy became synonymous with excellence in the fashion, design, automotive and craftsmanship sectors. But when was this denomination officially born? And why was April 15 chosen as the official day of Made in Italy? Here are all the numbers of a label that makes Italy unique in the world.

 

APRIL 15
The National Day of Made in Italy is celebrated on April 15, but it is a symbolic date, chosen because it is the anniversary of the birth of Leonardo da Vinci. The origins of Made in Italy as an identity brand are in fact identified in a totally different date, namely February 12, 1951, when the first fashion show dedicated to Italian craftsmanship took place at Villa Torrigiani in Florence.
