Will the padlock be the new cult charm of the season?

Message for all the Millennials who, back in the early 2000s, fell under the spell of the Tiffany & Co. heart-shaped lock: your moment has come.

Time to open that jewelry box of forgotten treasures and bring it back out—because, judging by the runways, that is about to be the cult accessory of the upcoming winter season.

It’s no coincidence that Louis Vuitton chose its iconic Silver Lockit as the star of a special collaboration with brand ambassador Felix—the Korean-Australian rapper and member of Stray Kids. The lock has always been a signature of the maison, part of its jewelry collection and even its charity version supporting UNICEF.

But the lock obsession seems to have gone far beyond just one house. From Dsquared2, Dolce & Gabbana, and Versace—who, true to their DNA, turned it into a bold statement—to Gucci and Chanel, where chain-and-lock combos are chic, minimalist signature details.

And if you needed more proof that the lock trend is real: enter the comeback of the Paddington bag by Chloé. With its oversized (and yes, very heavy) golden lock, it’s making its way back onto the runway thanks to the brand’s creative director Chemena Kamali, who’s reviving it as a symbol of boho-chic cool.

Long story short, this winter is shaping up to be all about lock mania. And hopefully, it marks a return to meaningful metal accessories—where luxury charms are not just decorative, but carry weight in both material and symbolism.
