The Vicenza Symposium: from September 2nd to 4th, 2025 at the Basilica Palladiana in Vicenza

Can engineering be a playground for creative experimentation? That’s the challenge embraced by The Vicenza Symposium, a new international platform focused on the technological evolution and new production scenarios transforming the world of jewellery and goldsmithing. The event will debut from September 2nd to 4th, 2025, at the Basilica Palladiana in Vicenza, featuring 21 speakers and three thematic areas: Innovation and Advanced Processes, Quality and Finishing Processes, Sustainability and Regulations.
Artificial Intelligence is one of the central topics: when applied to industrial sectors, machine learning technologiesenable the creation of more consistent and precise objects, reducing waste and optimising the use of materials and resources. This growing segment supports craftsmanship, enhancing industrial manufacturing without replacing the manual component.
The Symposium looks to the future, but also tackles structural challenges of the sector, such as the processing of precious metals. Talks will explore the benefits of technologies like Laser Powder Bed Fusion (L-PBF) and BinderJetting, which allow the production of complex semi-finished products and high-level finishes, while reducing production time and costs.
A focus on sustainability is central to studies dedicated to Additive Manufacturing (AM) technologies, which are increasingly relevant for their contribution to reducing environmental impact. Moreover, the event aims to build an international community, capable of connecting scientific research and artisanal know-how. As Damiano Zito, President of the event’s Scientific Committee, explains: “Our goal is to offer a space for ongoing exchange, promoting a more scientific approach to jewellery creation, encouraging the spread of a design culture where craftsmanship and innovation can engage in a meaningful dialogue.
