MICAM Milano
The February 2019 edition of MICAM Milano closed successfully with an attendance of 44,668 visitors (UP 5,2%), including 26,543 international visitors (+8.4%). The event revealed important signs of growth, despite the complex economic scenario in the footwear industry. As requested by the Ministry of Economic Development, starting from this edition theMICAM introduced a new system for certifying attendance. "theMICAM attracted exhibitors and visitors from all over the world, confirming its unique attractiveness and credibility as the world's leading event for quality footwear,” says Assocalzaturifici president Annarita Pilotti. "The trade fair is alive and well, and we are very happy with the results of this edition, in excess of our expectations. Unfortunately, the market is still in difficulty: domestic demand continues to shrink, though growth in the numbers of Italian buyers suggests this trend may be about to turn around. MICAM Milano confirms its central role for growth and research on international markets. While response from European nations was good, with Germany in pole position registering a 27% increase in attendance, the best performances came from Asia, with the number of South Korean visitors up 37% and the number from China up 30%”. MICAM Milano is a continually changing trade fair, and a new layout is being prepared for the next edition to respond to exhibitors' needs, in terms of both practical features and attention to details.
