Griffe on the red carpet at the Venice Film Festival 2022
Not only great cinema: at the 79th Venice Film Festival what stood out were the dreamy looks, haute couture gowns, and high jewelry sported by international stars, style icons, and young hopefuls. Between designer taxi-boat rides through the canals of the lagoon and red carpet glamour, La Serenissima seems to have staged its own "fashion week."
And the looks really did not disappoint: among the men, Timothée Chalamet's fiery red gender fluid top and skinny pants ensemble stands out, or the '70s quotes of Harry Styles 'classic revisited' suit in Gucci to the evergreen elegance of Hugh Jackman in Tom Ford and Regé-Jean Page in Giorgio Armani.
Among the female stars, sparkling gowns of rhinestones and sequins by Julianne Moore and Florence Pugh in Valentino, the sensual silhouette given by degradé crystals sported by Rachel Brosnahan in Atelier Versace and a Louis Vuitton that seems dipped in the most iridescent silver worn gracefully by Gemma Chan shone - literally.
There was no shortage of bright and trendy touches of color, such as Olivia Wilde's canary yellow Gucci with a feathered hemline, Vanessa Kirby in a fiery red two-piece suit that highlighted her abs, Tilda Swinton in a somewhat alien minimalist lilac sequin gown by Haider Ackerman, and especially the queen of the festival for sensuality and charisma Ana de Armas in a bright pink Louis Vuitton, which is not only the color of the moment at the Spring-Summer 2023 shows, but harks back to Marilyn Monroe's iconic dress she plays in "Blonde."
A selection of the most interesting looks of the celebrities starring in the 79th edition of the festival can be discovered in this gallery that collects the most glamorous shots, upon arrival in the Lagoon or the catwalk on the famous red carpet.
