The 103rd edition of Pitti Uomo in January 2023 closed with excellent feedback and a buzz among the stands: some 13,500 buyers, representing 6,500 sales and distribution companies (boutiques, retail, multi-brand, department and specialty stores, chains, specialized e-commerce platforms), an increase of 210% over January 2022. Of the total 789 brands on display, 311 were from abroad (40% of the total. There were more than 9,000 Italian buyers (+ 190%), even better were foreigners (+260%, about 4,500) and accounted for 33% of the total. The top ten foreign markets most present at this edition were Germany (over 530 buyers), then Holland, Great Britain, France, the United States, Spain, Turkey, Switzerland, Japan and Belgium. Great satisfaction with the return of the top Asian buyers, Japan and South Korea in primis. Another interesting fact is the increase in buyer attendance from Nordic-Scandinavian countries (Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Finland).
In the opinion of exhibitors and buyers, the decision to expand the number of sections but especially the expansion to new product categories chosen on the basis of strong market trends with the two new special areas dedicated to design and the world of pets is confirmed as a good one. Pitti Uomo also saw the successful return of I GO OUT, the section of the fair that interprets the outdoor style of research aimed at the most demanding buyers, with a transversal proposal of international brands of clothing and accessories for outdoor life, capable of dialoguing with the urban context and an avant-garde fashion with an environmentally-friendly philosophy.
In this edition, Guest Designer Martine Rose, a designer of Anglo-Jamaican origins, previewed the Fall-Winter 2023-24 collection of her namesake label, while Belgian Jan-Jan Van Essche as Designer Project brought to Florence his concept of fluid and essential fashion during a special event in the Refectory of the Santa Maria Novella Complex. Appointment then to the next edition from June 13rd - 16th, 2023 with the best of men's fashion for summer 2024.
