Euroricami: "Less secrecy and more synergies to compete in today's market"
Growing up in the family business means being able to count on a vision that embraces evolutions but also steadfast points. "I grew up in here, as a child I enjoyed following the work for fun," explains Francesco Lapi, third generation at the helm of Euroricami; "this has allowed me to understand and assimilate what are the things that never go away, despite the passing of the years, changing fashions and the turnover of innovations.
Active as an embroidery and quilting mill, Euroricami collaborates with major brands of clothing and fashion accessories, ranging widely in terms of both materials and solutions.
So what are the characteristics that brands value across the board and over time?
"Timeliness, that is, the ability to give a fast and quality response especially in the prototyping and sampling phase. But responsiveness at the various stages also matters a lot-the world of high fashion has always worked that way."
What allows you to be so timely?
"We make everything in-house, from prototyping to sampling. We are greatly helped by the very high capacity of the embroidery equipment: even though we are born artisans and retain the characteristics at the level of quality, the work is done with state-of-the-art multi-head machines."
Is there one workmanship in which you are strongest?
"Quilting is my favorite workmanship, but we do 360-degree embroidery; having historical know-how, ours is an enviable archive and we are able to offer a very wide range of solutions that we customize according to the customer's request. My father used to say, 'if there is needle and thread you can do it'; today I say, 'if there is needle or thread you can do it,' because sometimes one of the two components is enough."
How has this industry changed over time?
"We have become much more open to confrontation; before, the sector "suffered" from secrecy. Today we try to be more synergistic, to get a result faster."
Thread embroidery, sponge stitch, chain stitch, thread cordonet, quilt embroidery... Are all your processes feasible on leather as well?
"Yes. One of the company's strengths has always been working on leather. My father was among the very first to make complex embroideries for leather goods in an embroidery factory. Today we work 90 percent on leather, both for clothing and accessories. "Euroricami: "Less secrecy and more synergy to compete in today's market."
