Research, new trends, projects and special events. The world of international spinning excellence will meet in Florence at Pitti Immagine Filati 93. The leading international yarn and knitwear show returns to the Fortezza da Basso June 28th-30th. On stage all the yarn trends for fall/winter 2024-25, with a total of 120 brands. As with all Pitti Immagine summer shows, Pitti Games is the theme that characterizes the style of Pitti Filati.
The new Domino Research Space, curated by Angelo Figus and Nicola Miller, declines the concept of Pitti Games and visually explores its suggestions. Space is also given to the new proposals of the special areas Knitclub and CustomEasy, which, under the creative direction of Maurizio Brocchetto, evolves by embracing the universe of Fashion at Work. A project designed to delve into the different aspects of customization. Textile machines, precious washes applied to luxury knitwear but also other segments of the creative process: embroidery, finishing, spinning, cutting, design software.
Appointments include the Florence Center for Italian Fashion's Talk "Ecodesign and Sustainable Future in Italian Fashion Education" scheduled for June 28th (11 a.m., UniCredit Theatre, Sala della Scherma), which will involve entrepreneurs, creatives and experts with the aim of beginning to trace the perspective for an "Italian way" to Ecodesign. Also on Wednesday (6 p.m., Sala della Ronda) will be the day of the CKD Master fashion show, featuring the creations of the students of the Master in Creative Knitwear Design of Accademia Costume & Moda and Modateca Deanna.
A special space (Cavedio) will be dedicated to the competition for new international knitting talents, a contest promoted by Feel the Yarn®, a brand under whose aegis most of the initiatives of the Yarn Promotion Consortium fall. Starring the 10 finalists in the competition from different nations with a total of 20 garments: the overall winner will be decreed at Pitti Filati. Coinciding with the show is also Vintage Selection, a landmark event for vintage clothing, accessories and design objects (Medici Pavilion).
