“In the Making”: at Lineapelle the raw material becomes living material
Not just fashion. This year Lineapelle, the leading event for the leather goods sector at an international level (Fiera Milano Rho, 19th to 21st September) aims to open up to a transversal vision of the material and does so through "In the Making", a multifaceted space hosted inside of the fair. Three days of technical workshops, talks with international names in art and design, an expo area with works and prototypes to get inspired, learn and change perspective. Three days to break away from the leather/fashion pairing and embrace other points of view, through the gaze of designers, artists, architecture firms, planners but also innovative professional figures and tech companies.
Giorgio Linea, a point of reference in the Made in Italy leather goods sector and partner of the main highly positioned international fashion brands, is giving life to “In the Making”, which will represent a place of training, knowledge and artistic installation at the same time. The concept reflects the transversal and multidisciplinary vision that characterizes the company as well as its founder Barbara Ricchi, known for finding original solutions and experimenting with innovative processes in leather processing. The artistic direction of the stand is entrusted to Marika Tardio, a young designer with significant collaborations with important brands in the furniture-design sector behind her.
“Overwhelmed by an unusual destiny”, this is the name of the exhibition that will come to life within “In the Making”, brings together the product of the ingenuity of eight different subjects, called to interpret the skin, each according to their own canons, the own style and peculiarities. Among the names that will alternate in the talk area of the stand, international design icons such as Luca Dini Design & Architecture, the studio that is directing the works for the construction of the NEOM megacity in Saudi Arabia, where a completely new Golf Club is already taking shape. made of leather made in Italy, made structural through a particular hardening process.
