APLF confirms return to Hong Kong in 2024
APLF organizers confirm that the fair will return to Hong Kong in 2024, with plans to create a new leather-only area within the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC).
The announcement was made at the latest edition of the fair held March 13-15 at the Dubai World Trade Centre (United Arab Emirates), marked by the return of both exhibitors and buyers from China after the easing of the covid-zero policy in the Asian country at the end of December 2022. Now in its 37th edition, the leather industry fair benefited from Dubai's geographical location between Europe and Asia, making it an ideal hub for an international fair like APLF, with excellent air connections from Europe and Asia, as well as from CIS countries in the north and African nations to the south.
Marked by a buzzing atmosphere (also given by striking fashion shows and a crowded trend area), the three-day event enjoyed the presence of 341 exhibitors, 15 national pavilions and attracted more than 5,000 visitors from 92 countries and regions.
Packed as usual with numerous networking and business opportunities, APLF also hosted the third edition of the Global Footwear Executive Summit (GFES), which explored the latest trends in the leather industry, and seminars on tanning and footwear design organized by the nonprofit Leather Naturally.
