Mugler for H&M: highly anticipated collection coming soon

Bold. There are few other adjectives to describe Mugler's capsule collection for H&M. Indeed, the Swedish brand is back to launch a line made in collaboration with a haute couture Maison. After the likes of Moschino, Versace, Balmain, Maison Margiela, Alexander Wang and, most recently, Iris Apfel in 2022, H&M has called on Mugler to bring a designer line to life in a low-cost version and 'share Mugler's inspiring and daring style' with more fans, as stated on H&M's website. The collection will 'embody Mugler's unique and vibrant universe' and will be distributed from May 11 online and in selected stores.

The goal of Casey Cadwallader, who has led the brand as creative director since 2018, was precisely to give a broader segment of the public the opportunity to own a garment that belonged in every way to the brand's heritage, that was "a true Mugler," as he put it. With the same energy, the same details and the same quality. "We are proud to celebrate the legacy of Manfred Thierry Mugler with this collection," said Ann-Sofie Johansson, creative consultant at H&M. "Casey has done an incredible job of paying homage to the history and the archive with a totally contemporary collection.

The capsule embraces a mix of new pieces and signature Mugler looks, including several archival remakes. The Maison's codes are all there: oversized shoulders, bodysuites with sheer playfulness, cropped jackets, short dresses in fluorescent variants with cut-out elements, and jeans with spiral multi-stitching, a motif that runs throughout the collection. All the way to more tailored garments and futuristic trench coats. The line also includes a series of accessories: gloves, tights, belts with the "M" logo, bags, scarves up to body chains and tear-shaped or unmistakable star-shaped earrings. In short, Mugler's aesthetic is well recognizable.
