Next year, Bergi Spa will blow out 60 candles and is preparing to celebrate under the banner of sustainability. “In 2025 our company will reach the great milestone of 60 years in business, and to keep it in step with the times we are constantly trying to renew and improve it,” explains Leonardo Bergozza, sales & marketing manager. “We have recently completed the expansion of our Arzignano headquarters to work more comfortably and safely in a well-equipped environment, but we have not limited ourselves to that.

Specializing in the design and construction of tannery machinery, at its Arzignano plant, in addition to the expansion, the company invested about 500 thousand euros to reduce its environmental impact, through interventions on lighting, window frames, heating, and rainwater recovery. “In particular, we have replaced all gas boilers with heat pumps, and two water collection tanks have been created, one to serve firefighting and the other for high-pressure washing of parts and machinery,” they explain. “Then we installed a photovoltaic system, recently inaugurated, which will meet about 90 percent of our energy needs.

At the Gambellara plant, on the other hand, Bergi eliminated the use of coal for the forge and focused on making the electrical system more efficient. The fume extraction system was also redesigned. Finally, the purchase of a state-of-the-art machine tool that allows the company greater autonomy in the production of its components.

“The interventions have been many in the last three years, but we are convinced that this is the only way to project the company into the future, reducing its environmental impact,” Bergozza further explains. “We will not stop here: the next goals, already set, are the installation of a photovoltaic system also in Gambellara and obtaining ISO 14001 certification, which will help us manage the process of reducing emissions in the best possible way.
