Fendi consolidates presence in Tuscany: a factory is coming to Serravalle Pistoiese

Between late 2024 and early 2025. These are short timeframes for the arrival of the new Fendi factory in Serravalle Pistoiese (PT), the feasibility of which was communicated in recent days during a city council meeting by Deputy Mayor Federico Gorbi. The announcement comes just a few months after the inauguration of the Fendi Factory in Bagno a Ripoli (FI), a space dedicated to the manufacture of leather goods: the one in Serravalle will be a logistics and production hub for the luxury brand, spread over an area of 28 thousand square meters, capable of employing up to 200 people. The plant will be built in the Ponte Stella area and will be divided into sectors for production, logistics and offices.

The confrontation with the Lvmh group, which, in addition to Fendi, brings together companies such as Dior, Bulgari, Céline, Givenchy, Kenzo and many other high-fashion signatures, had begun some time ago: the administration has already been working for years on the expansion of the production area in Via del Redolone in Ponte Stella, and the structural plan, which was finally approved recently, and the operational plan, which has already been adopted and is close to final approval, had clearly indicated this path with the aim of attracting important companies for the economic development of the area and for the creation of jobs.

On June 20th, Fendi sent an official letter expressing its interest in building a logistics and production center in the areas identified by the Municipality of Serravalle in the Ponte Stella industrial zone. The City Council, led by Mayor Piero Lunardi, has now given the green light to the planners to include Fendi's proposal in the implementation plan for the public initiative. In addition to the municipality, the Region of Tuscany is also involved, with the aim of creating a memorandum of understanding for the development of industrial areas in the municipality of Serravalle and the consolidation of Fendi in Tuscany. Also important will be the work related to the presence of the luxury brand, which will involve an urban redevelopment of the entire area, probably with the intention of creating a mini-fashion district.
