Skyline becomes benefit society: a commitment to the common welfare

"Being a Benefit Society is a commitment, an act of responsibility towards our customers, suppliers, employees and our entire territory." This is how Skyline, a footwear company from the Veneto region, born from the work of four generations of master shoemakers, justifies its decision to become a Benefit Society: a corporate model that, in addition to profit goals, carries forward a commitment to have a positive impact on society and the biosphere, operating in a sustainable and transparent manner.

"We cannot do business in a short-sighted way and wait for someone else to always improve the world," explains Luca Bressan, ceo of the company. "We felt obliged to take a first important step, to take into account the impact of our work on people, communities, territory and environment as well as on intangible culture. The step needs to be consolidated, creating new skills within the company and developing sensitivities that will lead to making the statutory change, a real change."

Therefore, among Skyline's goals is to increase its focus on sustainability issues, promoting and contributing to the research and implementation of solutions that promote ecological (particularly in the reduction of CO2 production) and social sustainability of the footwear sector, inspired by the circular economy model. But also promoting, a positive work environment that enhances everyone's talents and propensities, so as to promote people's well-being and work-life balance.

As the crowning achievement of a reshoring process undertaken ten years ago-which has seen the company profoundly change its product, which today is at the high end of made-in-Italy production-Skyline intends to promote craftsmanship and short supply chain, through production systems that combine tradition, innovation and sustainability. Finally, the active role in caring for the good of communities, through the development or support of projects with social and environmental impact, such as supporting Abio Associations, alongside children in hospitals.
