Baume&Mercier, shades of chocolate on the Clifton Baumatic
Refined design and sophisticated finishes. After all, playing with style, from the most casual to the most precious, is quintessentially Baume & Mercier, and the Clifton Collection lends itself to it with creativity and savoir-faire. With the Clifton Baumatic Date and Moonphase M0A10736 and the Clifton Baumatic "Chocolate" M0A10713, the Swiss watchmaker aims for the aesthetic sobriety and refinement of discreet luxury, linked to the formal originality of an essential design and the technical quality of an efficient and reliable timepiece.
The two models present a luxurious declination, with cases in rose gold for the Clifton Baumatic Date and Moonphase M0A10736, and in steel and rose gold-plated steel for the Clifton Baumatic M0A10713. Particularly elegant, the latter's dial is tinged in a chocolate hue with white crosshairs in the center. The dégradé hues enliven it with multiple reflections, demonstrating the meticulous work done on the color, savoir-faire in which Baume & Mercier has always excelled.
The sophistication of the design extends to the strap as well. The M0A10736 Date and Moonphase M0A10736 mounts a soft, square-scaled brown alligator leather strap with tone-on-tone stitching, burgundy on the underside, and with detent stitches on the buckle. For the Clifton Baumatic M0A10713, on the other hand, the choice was a brown coated calfskin strap. In both cases the strap can be changed in a single step, thanks to a system of curved pivot bars.
Both models are equipped with the Baumatic manufacture automatic movement. Movement side, the bridges are decorated with perlage, the plate is sandblasted and finished with colimaçon motifs, and the oscillating weight with colimaçon-finished Côtes de Genève decorations is gilded and pierced. On the technical side, the Clifton Baumatic Date and Moonphase M0A10736 is equipped with the special watchmaking complication that indicates lunar cycles. A noble and essential time chest for every occasion.
