Evolution is defined as the unfolding, development, orderly movement to an end, that is, change aimed at a purpose, whether it be adaptation or the achievement of certain goals. And it is precisely a path of evolution in this sense that EAM has been on for the past 3 years. EAM is an artisan company specializing in polishing metal accessories for high fashion. It has about 40 employees and has been on the market for over twenty years. A company that wants to be a benchmark for innovation in the entire industry.
Your pay-off reads "Beyond the Polishing." What is the significance of this statement?
Beyond the polishing (beyond metal cleaning) is the phrase that best expresses who we are today and who we want to be in the future. Going beyond metal polishing for us means dealing with everything that is functional to the surface processing of accessories, that is, tracking and creating new workflows, investing in 4.0 technology, providing our customers with real product and process consulting. It also means collaborating within the supply chain to all work better and create synergies that also have a positive impact in the social as well as local business fabric.
Sustainability, we now know, is a concept that the entire fashion supply chain has been grappling with for some time. How are you guys doing in this regard? Everyone is talking about sustainability today, but what does it really mean?
At EAM we have asked ourselves that question, and we can tell you what it means to us. Sustainability for EAM definitely means reducing the impact that polishing processes have on the external environment. That's why we have made major investments in cleaning up the asbestos roofs of our factories, even though we were not obliged to do so, as well as implementing a 4.0 vibratory plant that includes wastewater purification and recovery. Achieving maximum energy efficiency is also in our vision. Sustainability for EAM also means safe and welcoming work environments. Metal factories can also be beautiful, and beauty stimulates creativity and helps people work and feel better. Finally, sustainability means empowering the people who work with us to contribute and express themselves while respecting their uniqueness.

The job market is changing, more and more people are choosing companies and not companies choosing people. And it's not just about big companies. Even before any technological innovation, the competitiveness and ability of small companies like EAM to evolve comes first from being able to embrace and manage this "human challenge." At EAM we believed in the centrality of people before Covid and now we believe in it more than ever. So much so that in the past year we have initiated partnerships with figures who specialize in human capital management and development. In 2023, for example, we will offer our employees the opportunity to take coaching courses. These will be voluntary paths, precisely because we believe that motivation to grow must start with individuals. The company offers the opportunity, it will then be up to individuals to decide whether it is the opportunity that meets their desires and their vision of life and work.
