Accessories trends from the Chanel Cruise 2024 fashion show
Virginie Viard, Chanel's creative director since the passing of Karl Lagerfeld, whose right-hand man she was in 2019, chooses Marseille to present Cruise 2024, that is, the fashion show with which she says goodbye to the maison. A collection that confirms everything that has already been told in the past by the designer, both in her solo career and as Lagerfeld's assistant, with a woman who pays homage to Gabrielle Chanel transporting her each time to a different space to reinterpret the same cornerstones, from the iconic tweed to pearl rounds to the ever-present 2.5. With accessories that as always give an eccentric or trend-setting twist.
Like the mini bag in the shape of a double C, which follows the trend of rigid clutches to bring it into the Chanel universe, an object that we already imagine on celebrities and influencers. If we had to bet on a bag that will be in the spotlight in the coming months, we would bet on the Chanel 22: the first bag designed by Viard in her role as creative director, launched in 2022 with the Spring Summer collection, in this cruise it is confirmed as one of the maison's customers' favorites and perfectly embodies in the “pouch” trend that has been conquering the handbag market for a few seasons now. For the Cruise Marseille, the declinations are in laminated leather and fabric, with the ever-present chain and golden or silver logo in the all over silver version.
And for the shoes? The rule is flat, the essential silhouette. In addition to the classic ballerinas, the focus is on two models: the black patent leather gathered loafers and the white flip-flops with platform. Two models that tell the two souls of Marseille and of the woman imagined by Viard, the first urban, the second who goes from the beach to the restaurant without changing shoes but without losing elegance. We bet they will both be best sellers of the season.
