Scottish or geometric graphics, woolen and denim effect weaves, metallic effects. It is footwear with details that will not go unnoticed that we will see in the fall winter 2025/2026 season. As already anticipated last March in the trend event promoted by Wsgn, a company specializing in trend forecasting, and the Asociación Española de Empresas de Componentes para el Calzado (Aec), shoes and accessories will incorporate materials that will aim to allow maximum customization.
A fact that also seems to be confirmed by Flextex's latest productions that will grace the footwear of the future winter season. The Brianza-based company, with more than 70 years of experience in the world of elastic and rigid ribbons, is able to have its say on new trends, thanks to a continuous search for fine and innovative yarns capable of satisfying the ideas of the most demanding and imaginative footwear manufacturers, in the sign of Made in Italy. Ribbons are made by processing yarns of all kinds: synthetic, natural and recycled.
“For the past few months we have been developing weaves using polyester and acrylic yarns, with a woolen effect, capable of recalling the knitwear effect,” explains Fabio Rocca, at the helm of the company. ”We presented them a few days ago to our customers, who are already fitting them on some footwear models to test prototyping. What distinguishes them is the 'leno' processing: these are very special weaves in which the threads are tied to each other so that the elastic is more resistant to wear and durable over time.”
Finalized for use on footwear, particularly on ankle boots or ankle boots, they will come in trendy colors royal blue and strawberry red, alongside classic shades of browns and grays and the ever-present black. In addition to the new weaves, Flextex also offers, among its proposals for AW 25/26, an elastic ribbon with heights up to 50 cm, with plaid, checkered or striped textures, with color changes not only in warp but also in weft. Other proposals include a ribbon made with shiny metal-effect yarns (silver, bronze, copper or shiny black) and weaves reminiscent of denim, in shiny, normal, aged or printed versions. In both cases it is possible to range on heights, reaching 60cm for the tallest boots.
