3 leather trends for winter 25/26 seen at lineapelle

Which leathers will define the accessory trends for Winter 25? Predictions say that the essentials will once again be sought, with high-quality materials left very much in the natural state, but at Lineapelle, the industry's most important expo, there is also a sense of a desire to give attention-grabbing with interesting treatments.

Here are 3 trends we caught while wandering around the halls of the expo.

NATURAL EFFECT

High quality, leathers left as natural as possible, durability features. Brands (and consequently the market) are looking for the essentials, and in the tannery they are trying to accentuate the textures on leathers through special drum work.

And if the emergence of the second hand provides for an increasingly important revaluation of accessories that have a “worn” effect, with a leather that bears the signs of time, in order to reproduce this type of impression in new garments and accessories, people are looking for leathers with vintage treatments, handmade by dabbing that give an old effect.

MIRROR EFFECT

Shiny, almost mirror-like: if the colors and textures are those comforting and familiar ones, we also go back to a great classic such as shiny leather, which for a few seasons now has been in the spotlight again.

DENIM EFFECT

A few seasons ago Bottega Veneta built an entire fashion show on trompe l'oeil: cotton tank tops that weren't cotton, jeans that weren't denim, in short garments that on closer inspection turned out to be leather instead of fabric. For those seeking the same effect on accessories, there are leathers that manage to give the impression of denim throughout, even in its colored versions.
